Cinema Godard at Fondazione Prada, curated by Paolo Moretti, presents monthly retrospectives, premieres, and talks dedicated to independent and auteur cinema. In March, the programme features five events: Alice Diop on 14 March, Shahrbanoo Sadat on 20 March, Marco Bellocchio on 21 March, Laura Samani on 27 March, and Alain Gomis on 28 March.
.:. #Soggettiva retraces the filmography of Marco Bellocchio on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the theatrical release of his debut Fists in the Pocket. A visionary and nonconformist filmmaker, constantly navigating between personal and political themes, Bellocchio has examined Italy’s recent history and institutions with a lucid gaze, creating works such as China is near, In the Name of the Father, A Leap in the Dark, Slap the Monster on Page One, The Eyes, the Mouth, Good Morning, Night, Marx can wait, Vincere, and The Traitor.
.:. #Anteprima presents three titles yet to be released in Italy: If I Had Legs I'd Kick You, a portrait of contemporary motherhood directed by Mary Bronstein, Cutting Through Rocks by Mohammadreza Eyni and Sara Khaki, and Dao by Alain Gomis.
