slideshow .:. The paisley design - also referred to as cachemire in Italian - is a contemporary classic, which has long provided chances for textile designers and technicians to display their skills. It is therefore not by chance that the Ratti Foundation, a landmark in Como’s textile history, has organized about paisley one of its small-is-beautiful exhibitions.
.:. This is in fact a double exhibition, involving both the foundation's headquarters at Villa Sucota, on the shore of Lake Como just north of the city center, and the Art-Nouveau Villa Bernasconi in the nearby village of Cernobbio.
.:. Among the two venues, you can take an enjoyable walk. For those who don't fancy strolling, local buses are reasonably frequent.
