Art critics have always found difficult to agree on where Felice Casorati (Novara, 1883 - Torino, 1963) should be placed in the history of art. His name is not frequently mentioned among the greatest Italian painters of the 1930s. This exhibition does justice to him, and suggests that his partial neglect might be explained by his attention to Italian Renaissance, rather than to his colleagues in Fascist times.
.:. Casorati's works are on loan from the national galleries of Turin, Rome and Venice, as well as from important museums in Berlin, Paris, Boston and São Paulo. The tribute is hosted by the cultural branch of the biggest Italian manufacturer of confectionery.
