no slideshow .:. Born in Mexico City in 1967, Damián Ortega is basically an artist that has fun. He can dismantle a Volkswagen Beetle to turn it into an understandable myth - which in fact is what it is - or let a submarine, made of jute bags, slowly deflate as sand comes out of it.
.:. The play is revealed when Ortega makes use of tools, like wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, and saws, or even drums and an electric guitar with an amplifier, to draw an environment where visitors are implicitly called to enter, and manage.
.:. Fun can obviously become irony, with an electric bulb that sports a wax candle inside, or a wooden hand that has Victorinox features in place of the nails. No kiddin', boys: Damián is a serious artist.
