Masterplans which haven't been implemented, and new districts still dreamt of. From Napoleon to this morning, the architectural history of Milan is full of such episodes. Even recently, despite Porta Nuova was born, interesting urban projects - like those of Enzo Mari for Piazza Duomo or Renzo Piano for the Falck industrial area in Sesto San Giovanni - have been simply archived.
