Admittedly, exhibitions of Impressionist paintings are not exactly a novelty in this country. This one in Milano, however, is special inasmuch it hosts - and does so for six months - a generous portion of the Philadelphia Museum of Art collections.
.:. Want some names, just to be impressed? Here they are, in a more or less chronological order. Pierre Bonnard, Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas, Edouard Manet, Paul Gauguin, Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Camille Pissarro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Georges Braque, Vasily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Henri Matisse, Marc Chagall, Constantin Brancusi, Pablo Picasso.
.:. The exhibition started on March 8, and ladies have not been forgotten. Please add Mary Cassatt, Marie Laurencin, and Berthe Morisot to the list above.
